Sort text line by line, A to Z or Z to A, or by the number at the start of each line, in your browser.
A to Z, Z to A, numeric smallest first, and numeric largest first.
Uses your browser's collation, so accented and non-Latin letters sort sensibly, not by raw character codes.
Equal lines keep their order and duplicates are kept. Only empty lines can be removed, if you ask.
Everything is computed in your browser. Your list is never uploaded or stored.
When you use Sort Lines, your data never leaves your browser. All transformations execute in-memory on your local machine with zero server uploads. Web assets are downloaded to run the tool, but your input data is never transmitted.
No. The lines are sorted in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored. The page does download the code needed to run the tool.
Each line is sorted by the number at its start (for example "10 apples" sorts as 10). Lines that do not start with a number go last, in their original order. Thousands separators are not supported.
Off (the default): Apple and apple are equal and keep their original order. On: they are different, with lowercase before uppercase of the same letter.
No. Duplicates are kept and end up next to each other. Use Remove Duplicate Lines if you want them removed.
Text order uses the language rules of your browser, so accented and non-Latin letters sort sensibly; with Case sensitive off, Apple and apple are equal and keep their original order, and with it on lowercase comes first. Numeric orders sort by the number at the start of each line; lines without one come last. Duplicates are kept, and the sort is stable. Remove empty lines also drops lines that contain only spaces. Press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac) in the input to run. Processed locally in your browser.
